Solidity REPL
CHANGELOG

What changed in Solidity REPL.

Material changes to the compiler range, execution model, inspection tools, and learning resources are recorded here.

Solidity REPL on X

Solidity REPL now has a dedicated public account and a deeper technical reference for product updates and reliable investigations.

  • Added @SolidityREPL to contact and project information pages, site footers, social metadata, and structured data.
  • Expanded Documentation with the run lifecycle, REPL and Source state models, fork boundaries, verified-contract flow, session persistence, reproducibility, and practical troubleshooting.
  • Added shallow, read-only imports from public smart-HTTP Git repositories with branch, tag, subdirectory, commit, and file selection controls.

A complete Solidity syntax example library

The runnable library now covers 95 focused Solidity and EVM investigations with clearer language-level references.

  • Added 50 executable examples covering literals, control flow, data locations, function values, contract features, call types, errors, and Yul.
  • Added a dedicated Syntax & control flow category for branches, loops, tuples, named arguments, and recursion.
  • Linked new language examples to the matching official Solidity documentation section.
  • Added modern compiler cases for user-defined operators, transient storage, and custom storage layout.
  • Added executable call investigations for CREATE2, delegatecall, staticcall, typed value calls, receive, and fallback.
  • Merged the tutorial into Guides as a complete Getting Started walkthrough and preserved the old URL with a permanent redirect.
  • Reworked every workflow guide around a reproducible outcome, decision points, failure cases, and several focused practice examples.
  • Made linked debugger examples perform their prepared first run automatically while keeping later debug runs manual.

A faster, more complete Solidity workspace

This release makes the workspace easier to discover, faster to open, and clearer about where execution and network requests happen.

  • Added runnable example pages, workflow guides, structured data, and server-rendered recipe links.
  • Deferred Source mode, Inspector, Workbench, export, and command tools until they are opened.
  • Added queued early runs and content-addressed compiler worker caching.
  • Expanded compiler support across every stable catalog release from Solidity 0.4.0 through the current catalog release.
  • Added fixed-block fork calls, verified-contract interfaces, sequential REPL history, and full execution inspection.
  • Removed automatic public RPC defaults; a fork asks for an endpoint only when a run needs chain state.
